Cookie Policy
Effective date: June 1, 2026
In plain English
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which categories Moneta uses, and how you can control them. For more on how we handle personal information, see our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies (like local storage) work the same way. They help websites remember your actions and preferences, keep you signed in, and operate securely. We also use your browser's local storage to remember your cookie-consent choice.
2. Cookie categories we use
| Category | Purpose | Examples | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessaryAlways on | Required to sign you in, keep you signed in, secure the service, and remember your cookie choices. The site cannot work without these. | Supabase authentication/session cookies (e.g. sb-access-token, sb-refresh-token), a short-lived sign-in redirect cookie, and your saved cookie-consent preference. | Session up to ~1 year |
| AnalyticsOptional (consent required) | Help us understand how teachers use Moneta so we can improve it. These are only set if you allow them, and are not currently active by default. | Aggregated, privacy-respecting usage metrics (only if enabled and consented). | Up to ~2 years |
| MarketingOptional (consent required) | Used to measure and improve outreach about Moneta. These are only set with your consent and are not currently active by default. | Campaign attribution cookies (only if enabled and consented). | Up to ~1 year |
3. Managing your cookies
You can control optional cookies in several ways:
- Consent banner: when you first visit, choose Accept All, Reject Non-Essential, or Manage Preferences to pick categories.
- Change your choice anytime: use the link (also available in the footer) to reopen the banner.
- Browser settings: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop you from signing in or break parts of the Service.
Because analytics and marketing cookies are off unless you opt in, rejecting non-essential cookies will not affect your ability to use Moneta.
4. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email and update the effective date above.
